It should have been a relatively simple process, but the cash for clunkers program has turned into a bureaucratic nightmare for participating car dealers. They sold cars at a $4,500 discount with the expectation that they would be reimbursed by the government; but, the government reimbursement checks have been slow in coming. Meanwhile, the dealers have to pay their workers, landlords, and lenders. LaHood obviously doesn't understand this and is taking his sweet time getting the reimbursements to the dealers. If he can't run a simple prgram like cash for clunkers he can't run a large organization like the Transportation Department. Ray LaHood must go.
